It's Elbows Up this weekend at Humboldt, Nevada for HMT

GRAIN VALLEY, MO (August 13, 2025) – After nearly a month off, the USRA Heartland Modified Tour returns this weekend for a two-night swing through Kansas and Missouri, starting Friday, August 15, at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas, and wrapping up Saturday, August 16, at Nevada Speedway in Nevada, Missouri.
Series points leader Tad Davis is ready for the challenge. “I’m looking forward to this weekend with two fun bullrings on tap,” Davis said. “Humboldt will be a good show as always with a bunch of good cars there. Nevada raced really well last year, and I’m hoping for the same this Saturday. We’re gonna take what we learned there last year and hope for some strong finishes this weekend.”
Friday marks the series’ first visit to Humboldt since the March season-opening doubleheader, when Randal Schiffelbein Jr. swept both nights. Local favorite Paden Phillips, who won last year’s summer stop, will look to score another hometown victory.
Humboldt Speedway owner J.R. Sartain is eager to host. “The Heartland Modifieds have quickly become the premier regional touring series throughout the Midwest,” Sartain said. “We are excited to bring the best mods around to Humboldt Speedway. Since the series began, F.O.E. Enterprises has hosted races and offered support, and we look forward to the future of the series and racing as a whole!”
Saturday’s stop at Nevada Speedway is the tour’s lone 2025 appearance at the track. Last year, USMTS star Rodney Sanders edged Jason Hughes in a late-race thriller. With Sanders not expected this weekend, victory lane is up for grabs.
Nevada Speedway promoter Jerry Davis said fans are in for a show. “The Heartland Modified Tour put on a fantastic event here last year, and it’s not often we get to see A-Mods at Nevada,” Davis said. “We’re excited to have them back and see what they can do in year two!”
Fans can expect stacked fields, fierce battles, and high-speed action both nights as the USRA Heartland Modified Tour charges toward the 2025 championship. Follow the tour on social media or at heartlandmodifiedtour.com.
