Wolff Scores Funkadelic Night Two Win at Salina Highbanks Speedway

SALINA, Okla. (July 19, 2025)—Tyler Wolff made sure night two of Joe Duvall’s Funkadelic Dirt Track and Honkytonk Extravaganza belonged to him, driving to a commanding victory in Saturday’s USRA American Racer Modified Series and USRA Heartland Modified Tour showdown at Salina Highbanks Speedway.
Wolff earned $2,000 for the win, plus an additional $2,700 in lap leader bonuses after pacing the final 27 circuits of the 30-lap Wehrs Machine A-Feature. The Fayetteville, Arkansas driver took the lead on lap four after dispatching early contenders Kale Westover and Joe Duvall, and never looked back — despite a late-race charge from veteran Jason Hughes.
“I wanted to win this one bad,” said Wolff in victory lane. “Salina is a place we’ve won a bunch of races. Me and Jarred (Russell) were tied for the all-time A-Mod wins, and we finally got it done tonight to go one ahead of him, so I’m pretty excited about that.”
Westover led the opening three laps after fending off an early challenge from Duvall, but Wolff’s charge on the bottom groove proved too strong. From there, he controlled the tempo until a lap 21 restart brought the field back to his bumper — and brought multi-time USMTS national champion Jason Hughes into the picture.
Hughes rolled the top side of the track to perfection in the closing laps, drawing within striking distance, but Wolff remained glued to the bottom and never surrendered the lead.
Westover held on for a solid third-place finish, followed by Duvall and Kyle Slader, who earned hard charger honors after advancing 18 positions from 23rd to 5th.
The night turned sour early for ARMS championship contender Sean Gaddis, who exited the race on lap two after suffering a broken left front steering component. Mark Smith scored the win on night number one at Arrowhead Speedway before before a mid-race scuffle ended his run early on night two
As the summer begins to wind down, both the USRA American Racer Modified Series and the USRA Heartland Modified Tour return to action in August. The American Racer Modified Series heads south with a doubleheader weekend at Texarkana 67 Speedway on August 22 and Ark-La-Tex Speedway on August 23, where drivers will battle for crucial late-season points on two of the region’s most exciting dirt tracks. Meanwhile, the Heartland Modified Tour turns its attention to Kansas and Missouri, with back-to-back nights at Humboldt Speedway on August 15 and Nevada Speedway on August 16. With championship standings tightening and regional bragging rights on the line, these August events promise to deliver high-stakes action and set the stage for a thrilling finish to the 2025 season.
