Fall Brawl on Tap from Tulsa Speedway
Stop eighteen on the Inaugural Heartland Modified Tour Presented by Real Racing Wheels takes the series to the Tulsa Speedway this Saturday night for the first time. Boasting an elevated purse, with $3,000 spread from positions three through 24, track and series officials are anticipating a strong field of competitors.
Opened in July 2021, Tulsa Speedway remains one of the newest dirt tracks in all of the country. They have been USRA sanctioned since the start of the 2022 season and hang their hat on a weekly program with a few scattered specials. This event will be the largest Modified show they've held to date.
Local businessman and drag racer Keith Haney owns the 200 acre facility, with a drag strip on the grounds as well. The quarter-mile dirt track has had a lot of money invested in it with some suites and concrete walkways in addition to the rest of the facility.
“We're really looking forward to visiting another new track,” said series director and partner Erick Chesterman. “Tulsa Speedway has been a good USRA sanctioned track and Tulsa is a hardcore racing town. We have some added money to help with travel expenses for teams too! It should be a great night!”
With only three races remaining on the 2024 calendar Saturday's stop will be vital in helping sort out final championship positions. Tyler Wolff leads the way, holding an 88 point lead over Chad Wheeler in second. Third belongs to Brandon Givens. With Henry Chambers holding down fourth, 30 markers ahead of fifth place Tad Davis. Chambers is also leading the VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year chase.
Named the “Fall Brawl,” HMT will be the headliner with USRA B-Mods, Stock Cars and Tuners along with local Factory Stocks also in action. Gates open at 5 PM, with Hot laps at 6:30 PM. Racing is slated to fire off at 7 PM.
For those unable to attend, RacinDirt will have live coverage of the entire event.
