Show Me State Tripleheader Awaits the HMT
A three day run awaits the stars of the Heartland Modified Tour Presented by Real Racing Wheels this weekend. All three tracks will be first time visits this year for the tour. Tyler Wolff will lead the tour into the weekend as the driver sitting out front in the championship standings.
Friday, August 16, the action takes place at Electric City Speedway in Butler, Missouri. Saturday, the show moves to Nevada Speedway in Nevada, Missouri. Sunday wraps up the weekend at Monett Motor Speedway in Monett, Missouri.
Electric City Speedway is under the direction of Mike Parker who is in his third year leading the speedway. Long-time racer and respected industry professional Gary Clark, has been alongside the entire time as the promoter and kind of jack of all trades around the third mile facility.
“Mike has made a ton of improvements to the track since we took over,” said Clark. “The area in front of the grandstands has been tiered for lawn chair seating. We've added bleachers, built a new concession stand and tech shed. We also acquired a little more land to make the pit area bigger as well.”
There have been obstacles along the way, but the crew has found a lot of their effort rewarding. They are excited to host the first year tour.
“I always wished for a tour exactly like this when I was racing Modifieds,” Clark further commented. “We've worked real hard to make sure the track is good and consistent each week. The work is all worth it though when we have a great show and it all goes smooth.”
Hot laps are slated for 7:30 PM at Electric City Speedway. Racing is scheduled to hit the track at 8 PM.
Nevada Speedway is under the direction of the Davis family. They leased the facility in 2021 and are in their third season of ownership.
“We really like to see people just enjoying being at the racetrack,” said track owner Jerry Davis. “We've always loved Modifieds and they put on a good show here. We ran a few of our own specials, it was just hard to get cars. We're happy to have the Heartland Tour here.”
The track is coming off the Ron Bolin Memorial over the July 4thweekend. They had a great turnout of Super Late Models and a good show. They are hoping for more of the same on Saturday.
“These big shows really help keep us going,” Davis further added. “We had never seen anything like the crowd that night, people were parked everywhere!”
Racing is slated for 7:30 PM Saturday night in Nevada, Missouri.
The Monett Motor Speedway in Monett, Missouri wraps the weekend with the Keyser Manufacturing Larry Phillips Memorial Presented by Schoenfeld Headers and Wehrs Machine & Racing Products.

Deatherage Opticians is sponsoring the Pole Dash, with $750 ear marked for the winner and pole sitter. Rick Beebe Heating and Air Conditioning, Midwest Sheet Metal, Bass Livestock and Five Star Race Car Bodies have also jumped in to support the event.

Berry Tractor and Metal Magic stepped up to support the USRA B-Mods and Midwest Mods.
Monett Motor Speedway is under the direction of first year lease holder Steve Andrews, a life long race fan and successful businessman.
Gates open at 5:00 PM and fans are encouraged to arrive early with a large crowd anticipated. As a special bonus the Wehrs Machine & Racing Products Factory Support rig will be in attendance at all three shows, and company founder and owner Chad Wehrs will be on site.
All three shows are full points shows for the series. 22 cars will qualify based on on track performance and two provisionals will be in play for full time cars not locked in the top 22.
